Alternative Inland Mountain Route to Montejaque from
Malaga Airport:
This is a scenic route as an alternative to the coastal
road. Travelling time is about the same and it saves you
€8 in tolls. The total distance is approximately
120km and takes approximately 90 minutes.
Within a 5km vicinity of the airport ignore any signs
indicated Ronda de Malaga. From the aiport roundabout
continue straight until the road divides. Take the left
hand lane over the bridge following the signs for Malaga.
Stay on this road for approx 1km until you see a right
hand exit for Antequera. This exit loops around onto the
Malaga A7 motorway by the sports stadium. Continue direct
for approximately 2km and keep in the right hand lane
taking the Cartama exit.
As you leave the motorway the exit divides into 2 lanes.
Stay in the left hand exit lane and be prepared to take
an immediate right following the signs for Cartama. You
are now on the A357 heading towards Campillos. Set your
tripometer to zero. The first 17km you will be driving
on motorway which then levels out to a two lane highway.
Continue until you reach 52km and take the left hand sign
to Ronda. At 60km you will arrive at a junction. Take
a left turn heading towards Ronda. At 96km you will arrive
at a roundabout on the edge of Ronda. Take a right following
the signs to Sevilla. (You will be on the Ronda ring road)
At 101km you will see a left hand turn signposted to Montejaque.
At 111km you will arrive in Benaojan. Continue direct
over the roundabout. Drive up the hill for another 4km
and you will be in arrive in Montejaque.
From
Gibraltar: Cross the border then turn left for approximately
7km until you reach the main coast road and turn right
for San Pedro. After approximately 53km at San Pedro turn
